Michelle Obama sported her normal casual look at a Washington D.C. food bank on April 29, but of course there’s always room for media scrutiny. The $540 Lanvin sneakers she wore with her J.Crew cardigan and capris sent tongues wagging of a “first lady faux pas.”
“They’re shoes,” the First Lady’s reps told reporters, enough said. However, right-winged media alluded to an air of recession insensitivity and claimed her footwear was “certainly not a reflection of the poor economy,” said FOX News’ Noelle Watters.
